workshop estallidos 2015: census and fundamental properties of star-forming galaxies granada may 11th-13th 2015 rationale & topics comittee participants programme pictures The 10th workshop of the Spanish coordinated project Estallidos de formación estelar en galaxias will be held in Granada in the Carmen de la Victoria at Albayzin hill (click here for a situation map) from 11th to 13th May 2015 organized by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía - CSIC. rationale & topics Observational astrophysics and cosmology are becoming statistical sciences as the amount of available information from surveys of sources in space are getting bigger and deeper with the advent of better instruments in larger telescopes. The Estallidos coordinated project has the aim of studying the processes of star-formation in the Universe, from its very first stages to the Local Universe, and the relevant physics that can be culled from them. Therefore, in order to provide useful strategies and focus on these aims we are organizing the next ´Estallidos Workshop´ to present our recent work on detailed studies of selected sources and the exploitation of big surveys. The workshop is structured around the following main topics: -Extreme starbursts in the Universe. Census, triggering and evolution. -Massive star-formation and chemical evolution in different environments. -The local laboratories to understand galaxy disk formation. -Interplay between massive star formation and the interstellar medium. organizing comitte enrique pérez montero (chair, iaa-csic) josé manuel vílchez (iaa-csic) salvador duarte (iaa-csic) carolina kehrig (iaa-csic) ester ramos (iaa-csic) jorge iglesias páramo (iaa-csic) mercedes mollá (ciemat) yago ascasíbar (uam) jorge sánchez almeida (iac) participants alejandro lumbreras calle instituto de astrofísica de canarias almudena zurita universidad de granada amanda del olmo garcía instituto de astrofísica de canarias ana belén morales luis instituto de astrofísica de canarias ángeles isabel díaz universidad autónoma de madrid carlos hoyos fernández universidad autónoma de madrid carolina kehrig instituto de astrofísica de andalucía - csic casiana muñoz tuñón instituto de astrofísica de canarias claudio dalla vecchia instituto de astrofísica de canarias daniel reverte payá gran telescopio de canarias enrique pérez montero instituto de astrofísica de andalucía - csic ester ramos carmona instituto de astrofísica de andalucía - csic iris breda universidade do porto javier casado universidad autónoma de madrid jean michel gomes universidade do porto jorge iglesias páramo instituto de astrofísica de andalucía - csic jorge sánchez almeida instituto de astrofisica de canarias josé manuel vílchez instituto de astrofísica de andalucía - csic josé m. rodríguez espinosa instituto de astrofísica de canarias leandro cardoso universidade do porto manuel emilio moreno ciemat marina rodríguez baras universidad autónoma de madrid martín guerrero instituto de astrofísica de andalucía - csic mercedes mollá ciemat mónica relaño universidad de granada pablo arrabal instituto de astrofísica de canarias patricio lagos universidade do porto polychronis papaderos universidade do porto rosa calvi instituto de astrofísica de canarias rubén garcía benito instituto de astrofísica de andalucía - csic salvador duarte instituto de astrofísica de andalucía - csic vital fernández instituto nacional de astronomía, óptica y electrónica yago ascasíbar universidad autónoma de madrid programme sunday, 10th may 20:00 welcome cocktail (at Carmen de la Victoria) monday, 11th may 09:45 registration open 10:00 - 10:30 presentation 10:30 - 11:00 j.m.vílchez - a estallidos overview 11:00 - 11:30 c. dalla vecchia - galaxy formation essentials 11:30 - 12:00 coffee break 12:00 - 12:20 j. sanchez almeida - A simple intuitive description of star-formation sustained by accretion 12:20 - 12:40 j. casado - ageing, quenching and rejuvenation in sdss galaxies 12:40 - 13:00 y. ascasíbar - The physical origin of galactic scaling relations 13:00 - 13:20 c. kehrig - metal poor wr galaxies unveiled with integral field spectroscopy 13:20 - 13:40 m. e. moreno - on the dependence of type ia sne on their gas-phase abundance 13:40 - 16:00 lunch 16:00 - 16:20 r. garcía-benito - califa survey: a panoramic view of galaxies 16:20 - 16:40 e. pérez-montero - revisiting abundance gradients in the califa galaxies 16:40 - 17:00 a. zurita - central enhancement of the n/o ratio in barred galaxies 17:00 - 17:30 coffee break 17:30 - 17:50 a.i. díaz - early stages in the chemical evolution of galaxies 17:50 - 18:10 m.rodríguez baras - A differential study of circumnuclear and outer star-forming regions of nearby spiral galaxies with califa 18:10 - 18:40 discussion tuesday, 11th may 09:30 - 10:00 j.m. gomes - spectral synthesis in the era of integral field spectroscopy 10:00 - 10:20 l. cardoso - impact of an agn in stellar population recovered with spectral synthesis 10:20 - 10:40 p. papaderos - blue compact dwarf galaxies: born to be wild 10:40 - 11:00 i. breda - spatially resolved sfh and kinematics of the metal-poor star-forming galaxy ugc4722 11:00 - 11:20 p. lagos - ifu studies of low-metallicity star-forming galaxies 11:20 - 12:00 coffee break 12:00 - 12:20 m. relaño - dust properties in a set of hii regions in m33 12:20 - 12:40 v. fernández - nebular continuum correction in the chemical analysis of hii galaxies 12:40 - 13:00 a. b. morales-luis - can we use the n2 index to derive metallicities?
