Black hole growth: accretion, AGN feedback and black hole mergers

The evolution of a galaxy and its nuclear black hole is now widely thought to be co-eval.

The coupling of black hole growth with galaxy evolution is therefore of great interest. This talk will address parts of this issue of black hole growth with emphasis on black hole growth via low-luminosity accretion in "normal" galaxies, AGN feedback as a regulator of black hole mass, and black hole mass growth by accretion vs. black hole mergers.
