Transient Luminous Discharges (TLD) are large scale optical events taking place at stratospheric and mesospheric/lower ionospheric altitudes (40 – 90 Km), which are directly connected to the electrical activity in underlying thunderstorms.

All the effort that the astrophysical community has put into the development of the Virtual Observatory (VO) has surpassed the non-return point: the VO is a reality today, and an initiative that will self-sustain, and to which all archival projects must adhere.

GRB 050319 (z = 3.24) and GRB 050401 (z = 2.9) are long duration and distant GRBs. Their afterglows show unusual and interesting features. We have modeled these afterglows using Fireball Model. We show that GRB 050401 afterglow provides another case for 'Double Jet' at a redshift of 2.9.

I review theoretical arguments which suggest only high mass stars can form from primordial gas. But low-mass extremely metal poor stars do exist and so the question of whether they formed from primordial gas, and later accreted their metals from the interstellar medium, does arise.

It is well-established that clusters are dominated by red galaxies wirh old stellar populations, while the field population consists mostly of blue galaxies with younger stars. The origin of this relation may be due to 'nature' or 'nurture'.

Dwarf galaxies are the most common galaxies in the Universe. They are systems believed to consist of matter in a near-primordial state, from which giant galaxies probably form. As such, they are important probes for studying matter in its near-primordial state.
