A large sample of Abell cluster of galaxies, selected for its likely presence of a dominant galaxy, is used to study the dynamical properties of their brightest cluster members (BCMs).
A variety of high-quality observations indicates that the Universe contains astronomical bodies that are both dark, in the sense that their direct emission is almost zero, and extremely compact.

This presentation we are going to show the results of the study of the kinetic properties of the electron velocity distribution functions within interplanetary magnetic clouds, since they are the dominant thermal component and can contribute as much as 50% of the total electron pressure within th

After giant HII regions, which have been used for decades to determine metallicities and metallicity gradients in external galaxies, it is the turn of planetary nebulae - which are much fainter but can now be observed with large telescopes.

zCOSMOS is a large redshift survey (0<z<3) undertaken in the 2 squared degree COSMOS field. One of the major goals of the zCOSMOS survey is to reconstruct the environments of galaxies ranging from the 100 kpc to the 100 Mpc scale.

Multiwavelength studies of evolved protoplanetary disks reveal a general trend of changes in the IR excesses, accretion rates, and silicate features, suggestinggrain growth/settling, photoevaporation, and maybe the formation of planets and planetesimals.
