Venus, a planet with loads of visitors between 1961 and 1983, was practically abandoned by the scientific communities of both East and West as soon as it became clear that its inhospitable atmosphere and suffocating temperatures were incapable of sustaining life of any form.

I present two new surveys and some of their results on galaxy evolution. COMBO-17 is a 17-band optical imaging survey which provides photometric redshifts of extremely high accuracy for 40,000 galaxies and 500 QSOs. GEMS is the largest HST colour mosaic and covers 1/4 of COMBO-17.

Workshop on Massive Star Formation in Different Environments
Clusters of galaxies consist of various components: galaxies, dark matter, intra-cluster gas, magnetic fields etc. Interaction of the different component yields important information on physical quantities like e.g. the pressure, the energy or the strength of the magnetic field.

Central stars of planetary nebulae and Wolf-Rayet stars have energetic fast stellar winds, with velocities easily >1,000 km/s. These winds sweep up the material around the star ejected in previous phases of the stellar evolution and blow circumstellar bubbles.

We present a study of the stellar population in Low Luminosity Active Galactic Nuclei (LLAGN). Our goal is to search for spectroscopic signatures of young and intermediate age stars, and to investigate their relationship with the ionization mechanism in LLAGN.

Rotation constitutes an important element to take into account when modelling A type and hotter Main Sequence stars. Nowadays, despite the progress made in the treatment of rotation, it remains a significant problem for the analysis of observations from this kind of stars.

How does one go about finding an H-R Diagram for Quasars? Does it make any sense to search for one? We will review the evidence for phenomenological diversity among the broad-line emitting AGN that highlights the need for such a diagram. In other words, all quasars are not alike.

I review briefly theoretical reasons for possible violations of Lorentz and/or CPT symmetries in some models of quantum gravity.
Observations of recently exploded radio supernovae -a few years to a few tens of years- allow us to obtain valuable information about the nature and evolutionary phase of the progenitor star in the period from a few hundred to several tens-of-thousands of years before its explosion.
