Abstract:
The results of a uvby + Hβ photometric study of 22 and 14 stars, in the fields of the young open clusters NGC 1502 and NGC 2169, are presented. They include new Hβ measurements for the 22 stars in NGC 1502. A comparison with the results of Perry et al. [PASP, 90, 73 (1978)] and Reimann & Pfau [ANac, 308, 111 (1987)] is discussed, with particular attention to the presence of systematic errors present in the sequences of instrumental and standard values. The membership of the observed stars is discussed on the basis of the available photometric and radial velocity data. For the case of NGC 1502, the results of the nonparametric procedure for membership determination described by Cabrera-Caño & Alfaro [A&A, 235, 94 (1990)] are also resented. Light variations are reported for members of both clusters, with particular emphasis on the possible β Cephei candidates.
