Between July 16 and 24, 1994, comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 hit Jupiter. Every observatory in the world was watching this unique event in history.
The first image of the impact was recorded at Calar Alto Observatory in Almeria. Fernando Moreno, Olga Muñoz and José Luis Ortiz, researchers of the IAA-CSIC, recall those moments.
