Fundamental Physics From Ground-Based Gamma-Rays Observations

Crucial topics in fundamental physics, such as the existence of new particles, or violations of the Lorentz Invariance arising at the Planck scale, can be effectively tackled in the cosmic environment, by means of ground-based observations in the VHE gamma-ray band. This includes both Particle showers detectors, such as LHAASO and Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes, such as MAGIC, H.E.S.S., or the forthcoming CTA and ASTRI Mini-Array. I will introduce, without any objective of exhaustiveness, how the existence of Axion-Like Particles (ALPs) or Lorentz Invariance Violations (LIV) have been investigated in the past, or will be in the future, by means of observations of some extragalactic sources such as blazars or GRBs.
